The Downtown Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk continues despite a few venue owners on vacation or closed for remodeling.
"Seven Sirens" by Christina Olsen
is on display at Brian Scott Gallery.
Five venues will be participating in the monthly event scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 10.
This month all venues are located on Chetco Avenue between Oak and Wharf Streets.
Art Walkers will be able to park and walk
the short distance.
Closest to Oak Street, Brian Scott Gallery, 515 Chetco Ave., features the whimsical art of Christina Olsen. Most of her work is created using watercolors, but she ventures into other mediums. Olsen will be interviewed about her work at 4:30 p.m. Background music will be performed by Swing Time — Shirley Hyatt on violin and vocals, and Dan Hannum on upright bass.
The gallery has three floors of art displays, which includes Signatures, a gallery within the gallery. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 541-412-8687 or visit brianscottgallery.com.
In the next block, Forecastle Books and Gallery, 553 Chetco Ave., features creations by Marilyn Hart who displays both quilts and eclipse photographs. Hart will be present to discuss her work and visit with guests. Wine, coffee and appetizers will be served. For more information, call 541-813-2665.
The final three venues, all next door to each other, include Whimsical Griffin, Wild Rivers Film Festival headquarters and Curry County Democrats headquarters.
