The Azalea Festival has not been cancelled since 1966. That year Pelican Bay Arts Association held an art show and sale in their studio/gallery which was located at the Port of Brookings Harbor. They hung the paintings that had been prepared for the Azalea Festival Art Show and held an open house. The show was considered "a decided success".
This year, since it will not be possible to hold an art show in any location, paintings prepared for the Azalea Festival Art Show will be held in anticipation of the 2021 Azalea Festival Art Show.
