Kathy Huxley, Featured Artist for December at Manley Art Center.
Pete Chasar interviewed Kathy Huxley during the Art Walk.
Kathy's show includes some of her favorite oil paintings.
Kathy paints both plein air and in her studio. Her favorite subject to paint is portraits, but this show is all about landscapes, seascapes and structures. She has been involved with the Tuesday Painters group at Manley Art Center for the past fifteen years. You can see Kathy's show during the month of December at Manley Art Center, 433 Oak Street in Brookings. The gallery is open 11 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Sunday - closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's.

And here is where Nola's infamous Art Walk Camera quietly slipped into "cartoon" mode and secretly stayed that way for the rest of the Art Walk. Fortunately Ann had her trusty Lumix, so most venues are not portrayed entirely in cartoon mode.

John Gehl at the Chetco Community Library - hope John has a REALLY good sense of humor. When you walk into the large meeting room/gallery in the library, on the far end of the room you'll see three large photos that appear to be a show of work by Ansel Adams. They are the amazing work of Brookings' own John Gehl. Since my camera accidentally turned his photo of Yosemite Falls into a cartoon, you'll want to go see the actual photo - and the rest of John's show which includes three walls of large color photographs.
First time on the Art Walk: Tom Krenecki at the "New 7 Times 7D Gallery" on Chetco Avenue.

Thanks to all the artists and venues for another year of the Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk.
