After a three-month hiatus, the Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk will be back on April 12—back with the art, music and special events that have made it so popular. But the hours are new: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
It starts at 3 p.m. with a parade, including a miniature drum and bugle corps. Marchers step out at Dewey’s Digs (Oak and Art Walk Alley), proceed on Oak to Chetco, then on to Willow Street, and finally march back to Dewey’s down Art Walk Alley. Everyone is encouraged take part in the merriment.
At 4 p.m. at PBAA/Manley Art Center, featured artist/photographer Richard Leathers discusses his creative approach with "Inspiration and Composition in Photography.”
At 5 p.m. at Chetco Community Public Library the Chetco Pelican Players will present a scene from “The Importance of Being Earnest,” Oscar Wilde's aesthetic comedy about Victorian mores, manners and morals. The scene features Daisy Carr and Gwendolyn Fairfax playing two young ladies who both believe they are engaged to the same young man.
For those who miss any of this month’s events and displays, or simply want to experience a brief recap of activities, there's also an after-art-walk report with photos on this website.
