Artists are requested to share Chetco River paintings for Library exhibit in September
Local artists are requested to share their river paintings for a special exhibit at the Chetco Public Community Library in September.
This exhibit is linked to an upcoming community event—Cherish the Chetco, which will be held on September 21-22, with the aim of promoting stewardship of the National Wild and Scenic Chetco River.
The river paintings will hang the entire month and will help beautify the event’s special kick-off evening on Friday, Sept. 21. 2012, which will feature speakers, slides, and films about the Chetco.
Artists need to bring their work to the library on the morning of Tuesday, September 4 at 10 am. Pick up will be Saturday, September 29 at 10 am.
Paintings should be framed with a hanging wire, and with the title, name and phone number on the back.
Paintings of the Chetco River will be given priority for this community exhibit. Should there be more paintings submitted than exhibit space allows, exhibit selections will be determined by the “Cherish the Chetco” event organizers.
Cherish the Chetco is sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service and the South Coast Watersheds with the help of many public agencies, community organizations, local businesses and individual volunteers.
