The Keeper by Cynthia Wheat Darling
Twenty award winning watercolors will be on exhibit at Manley Art Gallery in January. Winners from the 46th Annual Transparent Watercolor Exhibition of the Watercolor Society of Oregon are touring Oregon. Manley Art Center and Gallery is one of five Oregon galleries on the tour. Other venues include Sunriver Lodge (October), Port Orford Library (November and December), Emerald Art Center in Springfield (February), and Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center in Bandon (March).
The paintings cover the style gamut from photo realism to impressionism to abstract with several stops in between. All of the paintings are transparent watercolors. The subjects include figures, wildlife, landscape, floral and other still life paintings. Unless they are sold at a previous venue on the tour, all paintings are available for purchase. The artists are Oregon residents, and several are nationally known professionals. The paintings are tastefully framed and prices range from $400 to $2500.
The show will hang at Manley Art Gallery from January 3, 2012 until January 29, 2012. Gallery hours are 11am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
