Until March 2011 Brian Scott Gallery and Signatures Gallery were in separate locations. But due to the recession-imposed belt tightening they are now combined in one place. Brian Scott shows the works of local and regional artists. Signatures exhibits the creations of nationally and internationally known painters. So you can see works in a wide price range, all in one location.
• Signature Gallery presents watercolors of Jan Kunz of San Francisco; the oils of Drew Struzan of Pasadena, whose movie posters have made him famous world wide; the oils of Ken Auster, whose paintings of master surfer Greg Noll have made him famous among surfers; the pastels of Albert Handell and Maggie Price. In addition there are the works of locals such as Sandy Bonney and Joe Tonini (pastel and digital art), driftwood assemblage of Thomas Sheets, mixed media paintings of Spencer Reynolds), and the sculptures of Karon Walstad.
• Brian Scott Gallery shows art work on all three stories of the building. On the main level of Chetco Avenue, you see the abstract expressionism of oil painter Lorraine Filippone and the delicate watercolors of Madga Druzdzel, both of Gold Beach; the photographs of George Cady, who composes and edits his shots with the eye of a painter; the bright oils of animals and children by Kathleen Kresa, and the colorful ceramic work of Christina Olsen. On the second floor the main attraction are works from the collection of Brian Scott, which contain among others the oils of San Franciscan Elio Camacho and the lively and colorful oils of Port Orford’s Elaine Roemen. On the lower floor you see the latest works of whimsical painter Christina Olsen and the mixed media products of Horst Wolf.
• Culinary Art is produced on both the second floor (the SNUG) and the lower floor (the GRILLE). Delicious lunches are served upstairs in the SNUG from Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 3 pm. Try the tasty soups, the fresh salads, and the mouthwatering sandwiches - wine and beer are also available. The best dinners in town are served downstairs in Art Alley Grille. Fresh fish, shrimp and other seafood, beef, pork and chicken, deliciously spiced, with mouth watering sauces. Add to it the soothing background music of Horst on keyboard and you’ve got it all: food, art and music at the same time in the same place. Try it, you’ll like it! Art Alley Grille is open Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. Call 541-469-0800 for dinner reservations.
