The rain didn't stop for The Brookings March Art Walk, but what's a little rain? One day after the Port of Brookings Harbor was devastated by a tsunami and many residents, including several artists, were temporarily evacuated from their homes, the Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk went on.
Wendy Hammon from Wendy's Creations showed ink drawings and china painting at A Wild Bird and Backyard General Store.

Local Oil Painting Artist Frank Gustafson demonstrated at Manley Art Center.
Frank is showing how he lays on an undercoat to establish his composition and value patterns before he begins to refine the details and color. Frank (better known as Gus) is holding a class at Manley Art Center beginning March 14. The class will be held on four consecutive Mondays. $110 for Pelican Bay Arts Assoc members and $160 for non-members. All levels of artists are welcome. The class begins this coming Monday. At Dewey's Digs the Limericists regaled us with odes to spring. Here Limericist King Bryan recites while Queen Kat patiently waits her turn for a jab.
Who is this leprechan hiding under her hat?
OHHHH! Look out! It's former Queen Lynn, back from Michigan for a visit.
Limericist Bill must have a good one. Everyone is momentarily behaving well (sort of - as well as limericists are able).
Oh Marge... she loved it... she hated it... she loved it... Time to give the floor back to Giraffes on a Raft for some musical relief.

Gold Beach Artist Alexandra Eyer playfully joined in with Rogue River Jam at Brian Scott Gallery. That's some of Alexandra's work on the back wall. You can see much more of her work in the gallery this month. Rogue River Jam is also from Gold Beach and Brookings can never see enough of them. This popular band is a hit wherever they go.
Good night ladies...
