Brookings celebrity, star of stage and Chetco Avenue, Ira Tozer, will speak at the January 13 meeting of PBAA at Manley Art Center. Everyone is welcome to attend the General Meeting at 11 am, and/or the potluck at noon and Ira's talk at 12:30.
Ira made his stage debut this past fall, playing the Persian peddler, Ali Hakim, in the Brookings Harbor Community Theater's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma. If Ira hadn't admitted that this was his first role since a college drama class, we would have all thought he was a seasoned pro.
Even if you don't know Ira's name, you know he isn't shy. You regularly see him walking Chetco Avenue with a big smile, waving enthusiastically at every passing vehicle, and giving a thumbs up to everyone who waves in return. Did you know he is also a computer instructor?
Come meet this many faceted personality at Manley Art Center on Thursday, January 13.

The Grand Opening of Salon Dolce (next door to the Pilot) kept the beautifully refurbished salon packed with well wishers all evening.
Salon Dolce is featuring the work of David Twining - photographs of pioneer women made from original 1900 era glass plates.
Kandi Legg, artist and cosmetologist, and Connie Twinning, massage therapist, now offer a "total experience" salon in Brookings. Kandi uses exclusively environmentally (and people) friendly Aveda beauty products and Connie uses raindrop therapy oils. The new salon is tastefully decorated and has a relaxing, upscale atmosphere.
