Hello SAGE Friends
Hope you have been enjoying our days of sunshine!
We have been rolling with the construction punches and getting our concrete feathers fluffed, both here at the Coast Guard Building and our new 11th St. location. We've had to nest a while longer than we anticipated, which has made selecting dates and event planning a little difficult.
At least we look pretty adorned in orange construction cones!
THANKS for walking the planks and touring the town to get up to the Gallery!
SAGE Place is moving right along! Ralph Leshin is completing the last details and Paul of Sutherland's painting has just added the finishing touches. Everything is looking GREAT and we'll be stocking the shelves soon!
July and August are bringing some incredible events to our SAGE spaces, so, don't be bashful or intimidated by the Ditch Witch sentries and the guys with hard hats; where there's a will, there's a way! The creative impulse is a mighty force!
Gerry has been updating our website:

with upcoming events and some wonderful images. Our West Coast Wings juried exhibit is in the judging process and we will be notifying our entrants of the results this week..
NEW SUMMER GALLERY HOURS....
We've been noticing some transitions in our visitors'
schedules; we realize you like to sleep in a bit and so we are shifting our hours beginning this week. We have also noticed that you'd rather visit on Sunday afternoons and not on Tuesdays, so we will now be OPEN 12-4 on SUNDAYS and CLOSED TUESDAYS. Here is the new schedule for SAGE
Gallery:
OPEN: Sunday and Monday, 12 pm - 4 pm
OPEN: Wednesday - Saturday, 11:30 am - 5:30 pm
CLOSE: Tuesdays (SAGE Place will be open on Tuesdays and Stained Glass classes will move to that location with our second week class on July 13th.
SAVE THE DATES on these VERY SPECIAL EVENTS...
JOIN US at SAGE Gallery on Sunday, July 11th, 2:30-5:30 as Pat Snyder, Susan Lehman, and Janne LeValle unite to do a demonstration of the collaborative process. They will share their views on this approach to art making and will each bring a "start" on paper to exchange during this creative exercise. You'll learn some amazing things as you observe their use of paint, layered tissue, fabric and more. The demo is free to All. Separate/Together is the title of the collage show and visitors have been intrigued to get a glimpse of the "process" behind the artwork. If you haven't taken the time to read the artists' statements that accompany the show, be sure to give these a little extra time. It's not as easy as it sounds to give up the artist's ego and vulnerability and let someone else work on your masterpiece!
VENTURE OUT FOR AN EVENING of aesthetic delight, Friday, JULY 16th. SAGE Gallery welcomes Susan and Steve Dimock and invites you to meet the artists, as they discuss their work and the art of photography. An evening Gallery talk and reception are planned for 4-8pm. Susan and Steve are local photographers who capture the intricacies, subtlety and vibrance of our natural surroundings. "Interactions" is a magnificent display that reflects Steve's lifelong pursuit of nature, through the lens, and Susan's philosophical quest to "nurture the Creative Spirit" and reflect the "Passion in Life" discovered in nature's wonders. They will begin their talk at 5:30 pm.
