Summer arrived just in time for the June 12 Art Walk. Brian Scott Gallery was bustling with activity on the warmest evening of the year so far. Taste O' Honey entertained.
Chef George Rhodes from the Art Alley Grill (downstairs at Brian Scott Gallery) demonstrated "Garnishing your Plate" - and showed us some really easy ways to artifully decorate a plate.
Margaret Clark, RN, Holistic Health Consultant and Nutritionist gave a talk on the "Art of Detoxification through Energy Medicine"

At right, art instructor Sara Broderick and Dale Wells (Brookings Artist and Tour Guide for the Art Walk). This month Wright's is featuring the work of Sara's students at SOCC and College of the Redwoods. Lon Goddard and Aura Wright performed toe tapping guitar and vocals.
Photographer George Cady is Artist of the Month at Manley Art Center. He presented Photoshop demonstrations for art walk visitors.
In the Manley Gallery, Karina and Marco had a rapt audience for their lively Italian Cafe music.
In the Manley Gallery this month you can see a preview of some of the items that will be auctioned at the Black Tie and Tennis Shoe Reception on Friday, June 25. The Art Studio Tour is on Saturday, June 26 this year. Tickets are available at Manley now or at the door, and include both the Saturday tour and admission to the Friday Evening catered reception (including an ingraved wine glass) for only $10. Where can you get more entertainment than that for $10? This is a benefit for Manley Art Center.

At Manley, Gro Lent and a friend enjoy seeing all the Second, Third, and Honorable Mention Awards from the Azalea Festival Art Show. They will be hung through July 4.
The First Place Winners at the Azalea Festival Art Show can be seen all of June at the Chetco Community Library. Rapp Brush performed guitar and vocals during the Art Walk.
Along with the First Place winners you can also see the winners of the Special Awards at the Azalea Festival Art Show.

The Wild Coast Photograph Club Members showed some very impressive photos. This group meets twice a month: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at the Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, and 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Manley Art Center, 433 Oak Street. You may attend just one or both meetings each month. If you want to learn to take better pictures and meet others who are interested in photography, this is a wonderful opportunity.
