Manley Art Center is always a good place to begin the Art Walk. Webster greeted guests in the parking lot and Duckies for the upcoming Derby on September 20 were available for adoption.
Yvonne Peterson, one of the Artists of the Month, greeted guests entering the Gallery. A display of her photography will be available all month at Manley.
Rob Decker, also Artist of the Month, demonstrated plein air pastel painting in the park below Manley Art Center. You can see his work at Manley all month.
Karina and Marco provided Italian cafe music.
On the north end of town, at the Wild Bird and Backyard General Store, Marilyn Hibler was showing her work among the wonderful array of interesting yard decorations.
Keith Sluder, who is showing at Signatures Gallery, talked about his painting techniques and how important the principles of design are in creating a successsful painting. Charles Grove of Harbor showed his award winning black and white photography at Village Express Mail Center. He also recited some of his insightful and entertaining poetry.
At Mo Vino Wine Bar Christina Olsen was working on a charming self portrait. If your feet get tired during the Art Walk, go to Mo Vino for refreshments and watch "old movies" of previous Art Walks.
Everett Carpenter is showing his mosiacs and mixed media at Centre Stage and Earl E. Books.

Dusanka Kralj's show at Eye for Art (519 Chetco Avenue) will be re-vitalized by NEW WORKS HUNG ON FRIDAY SEPT 18 for a reception on Friday, September 18, 5 -7 pm. Something for everyone, subdued and passionate, comical and whimsical. Everyone is invited to come see the show, and enjoy live music and catered refreshments.

J.M. Steele and Tod Steele are showing at Words and Pictures... Jeanne's exquisite, realistic oil cows are complemented by Tod's acrylic, stylized moo makers. Jeanne (in front) is having an interesting conversation with a visitor to the gallery.
And here we are at the Chetco Community Library, just in time to make a bid in the "Quackless" aution of "duckorated" eggs. Between the silent auction and the live auction there were 40 eggs to see and bid on. Pete Chasar's new work is displayed behind the eggs.
Saun Stone and her students demonstrated Tai Chi (a series of slow movements combined with deep breathing - a way to heal the body, focus the mind, and center the spirit) with more of Pete Chasar's work in the background.
The work of Horst Wolf is also on display at the library during September.

Brookings-Harbor School Superintendent Brian Hodge was the auctioneer, Steve Combs circulated to show off each of the eggs, Curry Coastal Pilot Publisher Charlie Kocher smiled as funds were raised to provide newspapers in the schools.
The variety of egg decorations was astounding... there were many beautiful entries by a long list of local artists. This one by Nancy Tuttle raised more than $100.
