First Stop - Wright's Custom Framing (next to the Pilot) to see Bobbie Geney's new pastels. They are wonderful. If you missed the Art Walk be sure to stop in and see these beautiful works during April.
Aura Wright and Lon Goddard entertained at Wrights, and you can see the usual huge plate of delicious cookies on the counter.
Nearby at Brian Scott's gallery, Horst Wolf announced that the gallery is under new management. In keeping with challenging economic times, the gallery will be managed and maintained by the artists who hang there - yes that includes artists sweeping the floor.
Guests sitting below art by Richard Hinger listened to Horst's talk at Brian Scott's Gallery.
Downstairs from Brian Scott's Gallery at Brian Scott's Dungeon (entrance on Art Walk Alley), Carl Rovainen and Friends played and sang while Mary Isakson demonstrated oil painting and displayed her finished paintings.
Next door on Art Walk Alley at "Firefly", Destiny Schwartz showed acrylics - Scott Graves and Marshall Thompson provided musical entertainment.
Final stop on Art Walk Alley - Dewey's Digs where the photos of Dewey Brady covered the walls - originals, giclees, and newspaper pages.
Taste O'Honey kept things lively at Dewey's Digs.
Across the alley at Words and Pictures, the springtime art of three well known local artists is featured in a group show called "The Signs of Spring". Above Horst Wolf, Buzz Stewart, and Dale Wells.

The show at the Library this month is called "Flowers and Other Flora". Audi Stanton (right) chats with a visitor about her watercolor florals. Audi is a "much in demand" art instructor in Brookings and shows her work regularly throughout Oregon and Northern California.

Up at Manley Art Center and Gallery, Gordon Marsters and Charlie Jervis (photography) are April Artists of the Month. Gordon is showing his oils and acrylics in the gallery, and during the Art Walk he demonstrated gem faceting.
Pastel Artist Rob Decker has initiated "Painters in Paradise". Local artists who paint plein air bring their recent work to Manley Art Center where is it displayed for the Art Walk (framed or unframed) and priced accordingly. You've probably seen Rob (rain or shine) painting beneath his huge, colorful umbrellas. For artists who would like to paint plein air but are uncomfortable going out alone, a notice will be posted at Manley Art Center giving times and places that you can join other artists to paint at outdoor locations such as Harris Beach, Lone Ranch Beach, etc.
Rapp Brush's vocals and guitar are always a welcomed part of the Art Walk.
NEW ART WALK VENUE: A Wild Bird and Backyard General Store. Diana Pierce (center) was showing during the April Art Walk and Rodney Brim was on keyboard/sax. If you haven't visited this store yet - don't put it off! If you can't resist temptation, leave your credit card home. You will find something you LOVE.
More of Diana Pierce's work at A Wild Bird and Backyard General Store.
Michelle Curtis at another new Art Walk Venue - Mory's. Michelle is working on a clay mask and showing a selection of her masks and wall art.
Stop in and see the new "Gallery" at Mory's. Three walls are showing the work of Michelle Curtis, Joe Bruner, Kathleen Kresa, Richard Hinger, Dianna Billot, Bette Sherbourne, and Christina Olsen.
Other April Art Walk venues included Pacific Legal Alternatives, Centre Stage, Bella Galleria, and Studio 101 Art and Jewelry Gallery. Sadly, seven o'clock came too soon to see them all. Are skateboards legal on Brookings' sidewalks?
