The Coast Redwood Art Association's 2008 Juried Art Exhibit opened on September 6 at Crescent Harbor Gallery in Crescent City. Three distinguished jurors; Horst Wolf - Brookings, John Helgeson - Crescent City, and Duana Roberts - Gold Beach, placed ribbons on the winning entries.
First Place and a $500 award went to Audi Stanton of Brookings for her acrylic "Walk Toward the Light".
Lloyd Kirkpatrick took Second with his oil, "Country Fields, Smith River" and received a $300 award.
Third was awarded to Deborah Ann Dawson for her watercolor "Natural Blues". She received a $200 award.
The People's Choice Award went to Muriel Northrip for her acrylic "Once Upon a Time".

The gala opening reception was well attended and the tables were laden with donations from Safeway, Ray's and ShopSmart. The prize fund donors were Lucky 7 Casino, Elk Valley Casino, and Graphic Dezigns. Businesses providing Gift Certificates included Christina's Restaurant, Thai House Restaurant, Apple Peddler Restaurant, McDonalds Restaurant, Del Norte Office Supply, and Enoteca Coffee and Flower Shop.
The exhibit will be open until September 30, 2008 at the Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City, California.
