If you've seen the wondrous display of Christmas lights at Azalea Park in Brookings and are yearning for more... about a half hour north of the Wild Rivers Coast, near Coos Bay, lies Charleston and Shore Acres State Park. More than seven acres of gardens are luminated for the holidays. Some displays are animated, and music adds to the atmosphere. The holiday display begins the day after Thanksgiving and runs until after the New Year. Hours are 4pm to 10pm every night. Park admission is $3 per vehicle. A gift shop offers something for almost everyone, including the beautiful lights used in the gardens.
