Collage and Watercolor Demo and Workshop planned at Crescent Gallery

On Thursday, October 25, at the Crescent Gallery in Crescent City, Audi Stanton will demonstrate her collage and watercolor technique, followed by an afternoon workshop. The demo is free and a workshop that follows is $20.00. If you can't stay for the workshop, come enjoy the preceeding social and the fascinating demo. Audi uses 300 pound watercolor paper, rice paper, watercolor paint, and sometimes white gouache. Bring your watercolors for the workshop. Audi will have some paper available for purchase at the workshop if you don't have 300 lb or rice paper.

A Social begins at 11:30 am. Bring a snack to share if you wish. The demo begins at noon, followed by the workshop, which runs until 4 pm.

New Oil Painter on the Wild Rivers Coast

Randall Tillary lives in Placerville, California, for now.  Randall plans to move to Brookings when he retires, which he expects to do in just a few years. In the meantime he continues to work full time as an electrician, and travel to juried plein air competitions as often as possible. He recently participated in a plein air competition in San Luis Obispo, California, where he painted vineyards, Moro Bay, and the hills in the Santa Margarita area. Several of those paintings will be on display at Words and Pictures Gallery in Brookings next month. Randall has become a member of the PBAA and will be the featured artist at Words and Pictures during the month of November. On October 11 Randall displayed his work for PBAA and gave a demonstration of his painting technique. If you missed this demo, Randall will be offering a demo of seascape painting in oil in Crescent City in the near future.
