Festival of the Arts - August 18 and 19, 2007

The best Fine Arts Festival in Oregon is less than a month away... mark your calendar for Saturday, August 18, and Sunday, August 19, 2007, 10 am to 5 pm.  The Port of Brookings Harbor will be transformed into a grand seaside gallery you won't want to miss.

Gold Beach Art Roll

Gold Beach Artists and Galleries are planning a new event. It's not exactly an Art Walk because the locations are too far apart for most to walk. A bus will be provided that will arrive and depart each location at 20 minute intervals. The first event is planned for Saturday, August 25 -- so mark your calendar and look for more info to come.

July Art Walk in Brookings

The Brookings Art Galleries were crowded on Saturday afternoon. July's Second Saturday Art Walk drew a large number of art lovers who came to see the latest shows.

Barbara Kennedy served wine and cheese at Eye for Art Gallery, where you can still see the abstract work of a group of Portland artists.

Destiny Schwartz has her own "gallery" at Eye for Art where she shows her acrylic creations that she calls "shrines and reliquaries to insects, lichens, twigs, seaweed, birds, etc..."   Her gallery is always a popular place on the Art Walk.

Jeanne Steele had a very busy afternoon at Exotic Woods Gallery. Here she is discussing a current painting with another Gold Beach artist, Shelly Wierzba.
