So much art... hard to believe this is just a small town. More than 20 artists from Brookings and Gold Beach participated in a two day studio tour on the last weekend of June. Brookings artists opened their studios for the tour and six Gold Beach artists set up at the Southwestern Community College Building. A beautiful Tour Book with color photos of each artist's work and a map to their studios was printed by the Curry Coastal Pilot and provided to each person purchasing a tour ticket. The tour is a benefit for Manley Art Center and Gallery.
Four Gold Beach artists posed for a photo with their art.
Bobbie Geney was at work in her studio where she displayed her pastels and Barbara Jervis her watercolors. Since the weather was sunny and picture-perfect, they also set up a display outdoors.
Audi Stanton's art flowed from her studio, into the front room and up the stairs.
Christina Olsen's joyously whimsical art is infectious... don't be surprised if you leave her studio skipping and humming.
Much as I wanted to I couldn't make it to every artist's studio - so I'm hoping that this First Annual Studio Tour will be followed by many more.
