Who knew it was possible to fit the Holiday Artisan Market (28 vendors), a holiday Food Drive, and an art show of work by students of Sara Broderick at College of the Redwoods - all comfortably inside of Wright's! The Artisan Holiday Market opened at 11 am and was open through the Art Walk. It opens again Sunday morning at 11 am and was organized by Len and Violet Burton (above).
John Gehl (Artist of the Month at Manley Art Center). John modestly calls himself a "Blacksmith who takes snapshots". Come enjoy the rest of his work at Manley this month and you'll see that his work goes well beyond a "snapshot".
Brian Scott Gallery presented "What About Christina - Harnessing the creative beast" - an entertaining and informative talk by Christina Olsen about her lifelong career as an artist - complete with a flip chart of drawings to illustrate her journey.
The Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk will be suspended for the winter this year, and will resume in April. Some venues plan to be open from 4 to 7 on the Second Saturday of each month as usual - Horst Wolf has promised that Brian Scott Gallery will be open with music and refreshments in Jan/Feb/Mar. More later on what will occur on the Second Saturday of January.
