Two activities are open to the public during the festival. On Friday, April 19, from 4:30 to 6pm is a Reception for the Newport Paper Arts Festival Instructors Show in the Upstairs Gallery at the VAC. Open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4pm, the gallery exhibits the fine art of the 12 instructors through April 21st. On Saturday evening, April 20, from 5:30 to 7pm, everyone is also invited to the Instructors’ Sale where the twelve instructors will sell their fine art, kits and paper arts supplies in the Conference Room on Second floor of the VAC. This is a great opportunity to purchase some original art, unusual papers, or a project kit and see completed projects from the first two days of workshops.
The festival is held at the Newport Visual Arts Center with some workshops held at other venues. OCCA thanks the PUD, the Lincoln County Historical Society, JC Thriftway, Atonement Lutheran Church, the Newport Library, the City of Newport and the Waves Motel for providing classroom space and lodging for our instructors, and Mo’s Restaurant for catering the lunches.
