As most of you know by now, "Bella Galleria," our beloved hangout for the "Low Life" of Brookings, has gone out of business. Last Wednesday we moved Wine Wednesday to The SNUG, upstairs in the Brian Scott Gallery. As expected, there were some glitches due to the different room layout, stairs and all. So, this week we'll try something different. Bear with us and let us know what you think. Don't hesitate to make suggestions (except we won't tear out walls).
Here is how it shapes up:
• Music starts at 5 PM with Horst on keyboard (chamber jazz) on the gallery floor, followed at 6 PM by "Giraffes on a Raft" (Shirley Hyatt on fiddle, John Boye on guitar) upstairs in the SNUG.
• Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be available on the Gallery Floor - self service. Full dinners are served in the Art Alley Grille.
• Featured art: "The Martians," whimsical watercolors with limericks, on both floors. The artist will be present and recite some of his newest "Martian poetry," IF you vote to endure him. You are welcome to recite your own stuff, IF it's short and funny.
• Both the gallery floor and The SNUG upstairs will be open for your pleasure, including the deck (walking up and down several times keeps you in shape).
Let's give it a try! Hope to see you there,
Horst
