During the Opening Ceremonies Jo Mochulski, Chairperson of the Festival of the Arts, presented the Late Bloomer Grant Awards to Lorelei Hanna, Claudia Mach, Cheri Merkley, and Delores Maillet. Joyce Speas (not present) also won an award. Festival Committee members Betty Winterstein and Dorie Blodget are on the right.
Manley Art Center had a new tent for the Festival this year, and Emily Grimes (right) organized the art and artists and set up the booth with help from her husband, David, and friends, Robert and Aniko Lichtenberger (left) and PBAA members including Claudia Mach and Barbara Jervis (center), and Rob Decker (not pictured - Rob is the artist you see at the Port or near the beach painting under a colorful umbrella most any day of the year).
Brookings artist, Craig Barnes, with his beautiful and varied wood carvings. You can see more of his work at Brian Scott Gallery.
Next to Manley Art Center's booth, local artist, Frank Gustafson displayed his oil paintings. Frank also has several seascapes on display this month at the Chetro Community Library.
Christina Olsen modeled her pipe cleaner tiara in her colorful booth.
Violet and Len Burton are always easy to find at any festival -- just look for their lovely hand carved wooden fence covered in Len's oils, Violet's photographs, and their varied crafts and cards.
Don Jensen's fish rubbings are a delight. He is always finding new ways to incorporate subtile color along with using textured papers.
Jean Johnston was such a hit at Manley's booth last year that she now has her own booth, and some wonderful new styles in jewelry.
Sunday afternoon -- after two gorgeous days of sunshine.
The pelicans put on quite a show on the other side of the boardwalk, rising high above the boats and diving for fish.
Great show -- time to take down the tents.
