The Art Roll was well attended in spite of the Gold Beach Panther football game at State, and the Civil War game in Corvallis. At Gold Beach Books/Biscuit Gallery, people young and old had a lot of fun painting on Frosty and I had a blast watching them while painting on my own painting.
The Frosty the Snowman that Ted [Gold Beach Books and Biscuit Gallery owner] wanted painted was started by me with three big circles. Then the Art Rollers completed the painting as a joint effort by young and old.
The first to brave the large canvas was Avelina "Avi" from Idaho. She started painting the tree behind Frosty and I was amazed at her natural skill! She laid in large shapes with different greens creating a loose and semi-abstract beautiful and intriguing tree. Most of her tree was painted over by other painters that evening but that's what happens in a joint effort.
A few art aficionado's later, Avi's sister, Soli, added a totally creative touch with her tiny skier taking a jump off of old Frosty's side! It's obvious these Boise, Idaho girls have creativity in their blood.
Frosty's fate: He was sent home with me to cover the rest of the white canvas. Then he will return home to Biscuit to be auctioned off at another event.
