General Chuck Yeager made this generous donation to the auction on Friday evening at Manley Art Center's Black Tie and Tennis Shoe Reception/Fundraiser.
Curtis Wohlegmuth was the successful bidder for this beautiful image representing the highlights of the life of legendary Air Force General Chuck Yeager.
Numberous pairs of tennis shoes were decorated by Pelican Bay Arts Association members and auctioned to raise funds for Manley Art Center.
Party goers repeated raised their paddles for the opportunity to purchase the delightful tennis shoe creations.
Champagne was served in etched commemorataive flutes and refreshments included crab cakes, shrimp, various quiches, cheeses, and fruits.
The auction was a lot of fun and a successful fundraiser for Manley Art Center.
Today and tomorrow (Saturday July 12 and Sunday July 13 from 11 am to 4 pm) the Art Studio Tour takes place in Brookings. Visit twelve locations and 23 local artists. Tickets are available at Manley Art Center just off Oak Street across from the Abbey Mall.







General and Mrs. Chuck Yeager enjoyed their evening, brought in by Dan Brattain, the volunteer auctioneer. Dan runs Cal-Ore Life Flight and has been friends with the Yeagers for 15 years.
