Summary of Project
A 20x100’ mural is proposed for the inside of the newly remodeled Fred Endert Swimming Pool.
This mural will be on the west wall of the interior of the pool above the doors into the locker and staff rooms.
The theme of the work is to be AQUATIC. Proposals should respond to this theme. The color scheme of the pool will be available shortly from the city. The color of the ceiling in the pool area will remain the same and should be considered in color choices.
There will be a large 8X20’ mosaic mural in the entryway by Harley Munger. The topic of this mural is the two lighthouses in sunset. It can be viewed at the Crescent Harbor Gallery, whose artists supplied the painting.
Practical Considerations
--Work will all be done on scaffolding provided by the City of Crescent City.
--The wall can be viewed at the pool. Just be mindful of the construction work.
--Paint must survive in the pool atmosphere.
--Work will be done while other construction is going on in and around the building, before the pool area is open to the public.
Budget:
No budget has been set at this time. We will be interested in the proposals quality and cost.
Response time:
--Please respond by Aug. 5, 2008 to the Redwoods Mural Society, P.O. Box 1504, Crescent City, CA 95531.
--The Mural Society will pass the competed proposals on to the Pool Committee and the City for final selection.
--There is a short turn around time on this proposal because the mural be completed with the completion of the pool renovation in November.

This project is jointly sponsored by the City of Crescent City, The Preserve our Pool Foundation and The Redwoods Mural Society. All of the above organizations will review the proposals.
