Paint a sunset…draw a portrait…make a clay pot. Have you always wanted to see how artists do it? The Brookings-Harbor Art Studio Tour offers a glimpse into the artists’ world.
The tour is an invitation to mingle with the talented artists in the area. Twenty-three artists will participate this year at twelve locations. “What an excellent way to see what the artists in the area have to offer,” commented a person on the tour last year. Many artists will demonstrate how they create their work in the mediums of acrylic, oil, watercolor, photography, porcelain, wood, pottery, jewelry and baskets.
This event is an "art destination weekend" in Brookings. There is a "Black Tie and Tennis Shoe" reception on Friday night, the Studio Tour Saturday and Sunday, and the Second Saturday Art Walk on Saturday, 4:00-7:00 pm. The Studio Tour is a benefit for the Manley Art Center and Gallery, home to the Pelican Bay Arts Association. The center offers many classes and gives artists an opportunity to hang work in the Manley Art Gallery. The second Thursday of every month PBAA has a general meeting at Manley Art Center at 11:00 am, followed by a potluck social and an art demonstration at 12:30 pm. The general public is invited to attend.
Many fine artists and craftspeople live and work along the coast. Take the Art Studio Tour and see how the artists portray this wonderful area.
