A drizzly day was made bright in Brookings by Oregon Coast artists and musicians. June's Second Saturday Art Walk began at the Manley Art Center where hors d'oeuvres, music, and art set the tone for a wonderful afternoon.
Dale Wells led a guided tour of the walk. First stop was the Brookings Campus of Southwestern Oregon Community College, where the work of both students and instructors was on display.
Then on to Signatures Gallery, Words and Pictures, Exotic Woods Gallery, Eye For Art, Central Gallery, the Library and other venues displaying art and offering musical entertainment and refreshments.
A full house at Words and Pictures listened while Audi Stanton of Brookings and Pete Chasar of Crescent City discussed their exciting recent work.
During the month of June Pete Chasar's oils and Audi Stanton's Watercolor and Collage panoramas will be on display at Words and Pictures as a special exhibit titled "On the Coast". The lamp is also Pete's design.
Donald Rommes of Gold Beach and Brookings artist Dale Wells discussing author and photographer, Rommes' magnificent display of photos titled "Intimate Landscapes of the American West"
J.M. Steele from Gold Beach lit up the Brian Scott Gallery with her art and enthusiasm, artists came all the way from Portland for a wonderful special exhibit called "Seeing in Red" at Eye for Art. There was so much to see; interesting artists to talk with, talented musicians entertaining in several venues, delicious refreshments: three hours went by in a flash -- we sadly missed some of the events going on.
What a great way to spend a rainy afternoon! If you missed the Art Walk be sure to visit these galleries in June while you can still see the work of most of these artists.

Nola, This looks like it will be a fantastic web log. Very good coverage and tasteful. Now, I only hope that someone you know might be able to share some of this expertise with the Society.
Thanks for sharing with us.
